Footnotes #33: Offbeat recs, a cute literary dinner party, and my recent color obsession
This is Footnotes, a monthly roundup of links, ideas, and inspiration for your perusal. A footnote is considered an extra bit of information, so think of this as something extra from me.
Hello, hello! How has your week been?
One of my goals for this summer was to spend as much time on the water as possible, and I’m happy to report that it’s going extremely well. Between water taxis to weddings, a sunset river cruise, ferry rides for island day trips, and, most recently, an afternoon picnicking on the Boston Harbor Islands with my brother and his fiancée, I’ve been enjoying it immensely.
I’m switching scenery this weekend as we head down to Georgia for a quick trip to celebrate the life of a family member. It’s sad circumstances, but it will be nice to get a little time with family we haven’t seen in a while. My plan is to really sink into this book during the flights.
In the meantime, I’ve gathered another collection of things I’ve been reading, thinking about, buying, and bookmarking over the past few weeks. I hope these offer a pleasant little break in your day, no matter what you are up to.
Absolutely love the color of this hat, and its subtle bookishness.
