Welcome to Release Radar, my monthly roundup of the new books I'm most excited about. Each month, I sift through dozens of upcoming releases to curate a shortlist of those I think are most worth your attention, so you can stay on top of what's new without feeling overwhelmed.
We’re in the thick of summer release season, with all the big literary fall books just over the horizon (I even got an email about holiday books this week... I’m not ready). In the meantime, I’ve been fully embracing summer reading. Lately, I’ve been intentionally replacing some of my screen time with reading time and asking myself one simple question whenever I pick up a book: Am I excited to return to this? If the answer is no, I’ve been setting it aside in favor of books that are pulling me in. It’s been such a small mindset shift, but it’s brought so much more joy to my reading life.
Which is a good thing, because my TBR is only getting taller. Below are eight new releases hitting shelves over the next few weeks that I’m especially excited about—and if we have similar reading tastes, I think there’s a good chance a few of them will end up on your list, too.
